Patterson Park Audubon Center’s mission is to conserve and restore natural ecosystems focusing on birds, other wildlife, and their habitats for the benefit of Baltimore communities and the earth’s biological diversity.
Audubon serves as a local leader in nature-based education, urban bird conservation, and community revitalization. We welcome volunteers to join our team to improve communities for birds and people. Blue Water Baltimore’s mission is to restore the quality of Baltimore’s rivers, streams, and Harbor to foster a healthy environment, a strong economy, and thriving communities. They do so much for our City! Join them to help clean up trash, plant and prune trees, monitor the quality of our streams and so much more. TreeBaltimore serves as the umbrella organization for all City agencies, private organizations and individuals in their effort to increase the tree canopy of Baltimore. TreeBaltimore strives to increase the urban tree canopy through the establishment, management and preservation of trees. TreeBaltimore is a mayoral initiative led by the Baltimore City of Recreation and Parks in partnership with Blue Water Baltimore, Baltimore Tree Trust, Flowering Tree Trail and many other tree minded groups and individuals.
Help plant and maintain Baltimore's tree canopy! TreeBaltimore offers a free city-wide tree stewardship program giving residents the opportunity to become tree advocates. Become a TreeKeeper to share in the responsibility of planting and caring for trees in your neighborhood and throughout the City.
Weed Warriors is a city-wide program giving residents the ability to be an environmental steward that is trained in non-native invasive (NNI) plant management and enhancing native ecosystems. As a Weed Warrior, you can host events in parks all over the city to help protect natural areas, people, and biodiversity.
Great Kids Farm, a Campus of Baltimore City Public Schools
Great Kids Farm (GKF) is an urban farm located in Catonsville. Dedicated to giving Baltimore City Public School students hands-on gardening opportunities, Baltimore City Public Schools Food & Nutrition Services owns and operates the farm. With 33 acres of forests, fields, a stream, greenhouses, and a barn full of animals, GKF is a hub for farm-to-school opportunities. Baltimore City Master Gardener volunteers support GKF by attending community and student events hosted at the farm.
