The Maryland Bay-Wise Program promotes simple, bay-friendly lawn and gardening practices that help preserve the land and waterways within the Chesapeake Bay watershed. Watch a Bay-Wise Gardening Practices video here.

MGs are available for City Baywise garden consultations to enable Bay-Wise certification or for helping you work towards the certification. To request a consultation, submit this form.

Birds, bees, butterflies, and other pollinators are essential to growing fruits, vegetables and the flowers that produce seeds for future plants. MGs are available for City garden consultations about starting bee- and butterfly- friendly (pollinator) gardens.
